Christmas Charity at St. Christopher

Posted On Friday December 01, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The 2017/2018 school year has been designated by the Durham Catholic District School Board as our Year of Service.  The Advent season is a wonderful opportunity to serve those who are less fortunate.  So far this year, the St. Christopher School Community has raised money for Hurricane Relief (Development & Peace), ShareLife and the Charles Best Diabetes Centre.  In addition, our Social Justice Committee has delivered and served at St. Vincent’s Kitchen in Oshawa.  Throughout advent we will continue to sell Stars and Angels in support of our Christmas families (those in our own school who need our support).

Each class has also chosen a local community charity to support as follows:

Kindergarten – Layette items for the Rose of Durham

Grades 1 to 3 – Socks for Cornerstone homeless men’s shelter (Oshawa)

Grades 4 to 6 – Non-perishable food items for St. Mary of the People’s Christmas Food Hampers

Grades 7 & 8 – The Refuge Youth Centre (Oshawa)

Thank you for your generous support of these initiatives.

God Bless,

Mrs. Bartlett, Principal

Ms. Borg, Vice-Principal
